Dean David Myers, Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1987, at the Union Baptist Church for the Rev. Dean Myers, 59, of Talmo route 1. The Rev. Charles Jenkins and the Rev. Howard Blalock will officiate. Interment will be in the Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Rev. Myers died February 9, 1987, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness. A native of White County, Rev. Myers had lived in Hall County since 1942. He served in the Navy at the close of World War II, and entered Piedmont College where he received his B.S. degree. He received his masters and six-year specialists degree from the University of Georgia. Rev. Myers was ordained into the Baptist Ministry at Hopewell Baptist Church where he pastored for one year. He served as pastor of the Union Baptist Church for 21 years where he was pastoring at the time of his death. He served as Hall County School Superintendent for a number of years, a post he resigned to become the principal of Myers Elementary School. He was a member of the Union Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Illar Myers, a son, Homer Myers both of Talmo; a daughter, Mrs. Sidney Wyvone Estes, Gainesville; two grandchildren, Britt and Ashley Myers, Talmo; brother, Robert Myers, Columbia, S.C..; five sisters, Velma Collins, Lorene Talley, Linie Satterfield, all of Gainesville; Ina Godfrey, Buford; Mary Jean Farrow, Conyers; and a half-sister, Dollie Smith, Commerce.
